Team 54 drew 0-0 against Slovakia in their first match last November, back when the Slovaks were ranked 65th in the world.

They then lost 1-4 and 0-2 to the Faroe Island and Estonia respectively in March. The two nations were ranked 162nd and 92nd in the world then.

Next followed a 1-1 draw in their first away match, in Tallinn against Estonia in May, when their opponents were ranked 93rd in the world, and finally their first victory, 1-0, over Malta GC (ranked 128th in the world) in their last match in June.

These matches were all friendlies. Now it’s time for their first qualifying match – their opening Euro 2016 qualifier against Poland in their second home, Faro, Portugal on Sunday.
